Infrastructure Project Manager (Data Center Migration & Network Support)
Brazil
Duration: 1 Year + Possibility of extension
Full time - Onsite
Job Description
We're seeking an organized, proactive coordinator to support a co-managed data center migration from on-premises to the comanaged location. This role will partner with global teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to plan, track, and execute migration activities, while also supporting ongoing infrastructure and network operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and experienced in coordinating complex infrastructure projects across time zones.
- Key Responsibilities
Project coordination for data center migration: - Assist in developing and maintaining the migration project plan, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Coordinate discovery and inventory of applications, servers, storage, network devices, and interdependencies.
- Support readiness assessments, migration runbooks, fallback plans, and post-migration validation.
- Track risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID), and drive mitigation or escalation.
- Schedule and facilitate migration waves, change windows, and cutover activities with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain clear documentation, status reports, and decision logs.
- Global stakeholder engagement:
- Serve as a central point of contact across global infrastructure, network, security, application, and operations teams.
- Coordinate with the co-managed data center provider at the comanaged location and relevant third-party vendors.
- Organize and lead recurring standups, working sessions, and steering updates; capture and distribute minutes and action items.
- Escalate blockers to the appropriate leadership and functional teams with context and recommended next steps.
- Infrastructure and network support:
- Support day-to-day infrastructure and network-related activities tied to the migration (e.g., change coordination, maintenance scheduling, access requests).
- Coordinate network changes, including VLANs, routing updates, firewall rule requests, WAN/Internet transitions, and load balancer configurations as directed by SMEs.
- Help track capacity planning inputs (compute, storage, network bandwidth) and ensure alignment with target-state designs.
- Assist in validating connectivity, performance baselines, and post-migration health checks with monitoring teams.
- Governance, compliance, and change management:
- Ensure changes follow change control processes, maintenance windows, and communication protocols.
- Coordinate audit-ready documentation for migrations, including approvals, test results, and backout plans.
- Partner with security and compliance teams on control requirements, access provisioning, and data handling policies.
- Cutover and hypercare support:
- Coordinate pre-cutover checkpoints, go/no-go decisions, and stakeholder communications.
- Track hypercare issues, triage to the right teams, and ensure timely resolution and handoff to steady-state operations.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to playbooks for subsequent migration waves.
Communication and reporting:
- Maintain dashboards, trackers, and concise status updates for technical teams and leadership.
- Provide clear escalation paths, SLAs/ETAs, and communication cadences across time zones.
- Keep project artifacts current in the designated PM and documentation tools.
- Vendor and contract coordination:
- Liaise with co-location and managed service providers for circuit turn-ups, cross-connects, racking/stacking schedules, remote hands, and logistics.
- Track vendor deliverables and dependencies; escalate variances proactively.
- Logistics and asset coordination:
- Support shipment, receiving, and chain-of-custody processes for hardware moves.
- Coordinate decommissioning, data sanitization workflows, and disposal certificates for retired assets.
- Quality and risk management:
- Assist with test plans for application and infrastructure validation (connectivity, performance, failover).
Monitor risk indicators (timeline slippage, capacity shortfalls, change collisions) and raise timely alerts.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coordinating data center or large-scale infrastructure migrations in a co-managed or hybrid environment.- Familiarity with core infrastructure concepts: servers/virtualization, storage, networking (routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers), DNS, and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with project coordination tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Strong meeting facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work across global time zones and manage competing priorities.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to disaster recovery planning, backup/restore coordination, and business continuity exercises.
- Understanding of change management frameworks and ITIL concepts.
- Experience with inventory discovery tools and CMDB hygiene efforts.
Success Indicators:
- On-time delivery of migration milestones with minimal incidents.
- Clear, consistent communication and timely escalation of risks/issues.
- Accurate, audit-ready documentation and repeatable runbooks for each migration wave.
- Smooth handoffs from project to operations and measurable reduction in post-migration issues.
