About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced geophysicist with skills in interpreting seismological data and enhancing customer experience. Reporting to the Manager, Geophysical Data Analytics, the Geophysical Service Advisor will play a key role evaluating the geophysical data and results, and effectively owning the relationship and communication to customers. While the product deliverables are technical in nature a primary focus will be on the ability to collaborate, listen and communicate effectively with the customer and internal stakeholders to build customer trust.

The position entails knowledge and application of Nanometrics best-in-class seismic monitoring processing. The ability to understand the client use case and appropriately analyze and quality control the data tailored for the market and customer are critical. The candidate must be capable of communicating the results, anticipating client concerns, and answering questions to the appropriate level. Ability to manage time effectively and work with minimum supervision is a must.

Responsibilities

• Develop long term relationships with clients by managing and interpreting their requirements; speaking with clients to understand, anticipate, and meet their needs
• Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively.
• Generate technical reports and presentations for clients.
• Consolidate diverse seismic monitoring solutions into easily interpretable packages.
• Provide contextualization for seismic data as applies to specific industry verticals (i.e. oil and gas, mining, critical infrastructure, new energies, etc)
• Manage processing projects using the full suite of Nanometrics workflows from end to end.
• Present processing results and lead technical discussions with clients
• Provide guidance to product development roadmap via market insights and customer feedback and advocate for customer needs
• Interface with Sales and Product teams to align client expectations with services and deliverables
• Familiarity with processing of seismic events using internal Analyst toolkits, to gain a working insight into the tools, workflows and challenges inherent in complex seismicity monitoring projects and datasets
• Interpret large geophysical datasets from various passive seismic monitoring applications
• Assist implementation and integration of new geophysical data processing techniques into client project workflows
• Provide continuous feedback on Nanometrics data analysis tools and processes to drive bug fixes, design changes and usability improvements
• Conducts all business activities in accordance with Nanometrics HSE policies and company legal compliance requirements.

Requirements

• BSc in Engineering (Geotechnical), Geophysics, Seismology or Physics
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a professional Engineer or geoscientist in the mining, geotechnical or related industry
• Understanding of mining geotechnical workflows and the ability or desire to bridge the gap between geophysics and traditional geotechnical solutions
• Experience and Involvement with local industry organizations including participation in technical committees, conferences and other events
• Fluency in Portuguese and English
• Must have the technical ability to explain product functions and have excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proven ability able to develop relationships with clients and customers, responding promptly and appropriately
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams
• Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Understanding of markets and trends, competitive landscape, industry product offerings and customer challenges

Assets

• Prior experience working with seismic data products either as a service provider or customer
• Prior experience with real-time local or regional seismic network data acquisition, management and analysis
• Technical sales, or business development experience
• Proficiency in math and signal processing
• Understanding of and experience with the principles and techniques for earthquake analysis
• Msc in Geophysics, Seismology, Physics or Engineering
