General Description:

The Accounting Associate Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations across Latin America, ensuring accurate and timely consolidation of regional results, compliance with local statutory and tax requirements, and adherence to corporate accounting policies (IFRS/US GAAP). The role supervises country-level accounting teams, drives month/quarter/year-end close discipline, partners with FP&A for planning cycles, and supports internal and external audits. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and results-driven, with the ability to influence stakeholders, ensure compliance, and support the company's growth objectives in LATAM. Strong familiarity with Brazil statutory obligations such as SPED ECD/ECF, ICMS, PIS/COFINS, and other local compliance requirements is essential. The role operates under a hybrid work model (on-site and remote), requiring presence in the São Paulo office as per company policy. This position reports to the Director, Accounting (Latin America) and is based in São Paulo, Brazil.

Essential Functions:

• Lead and coordinate accounting operations for Latin America, providing day-to-day guidance and oversight to BPO in-country teams.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close timetables; ensure accurate journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Consolidate regional financial statements; prepare management reporting packages with clear commentary and actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/US GAAP and local statutory/tax requirements (e.g., Brazil SPED/ECF/ECD; country-specific filings).
• Maintain strong internal controls aligned to company policies and SOX (as applicable); remediate control deficiencies promptly.
• Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and transfer pricing entries in coordination with Tax and Treasury.
• Support internal/external audits; coordinate PBC lists, respond to requests, and drive timely issue resolution.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation (ERP/reporting tools); standardize procedures and documentation across countries.
• Partner with FP&A on budgets/forecasts; validate assumptions and ensure consistency between actuals and plans.
• Monitor KPIs (close cycle time, recon aging, audit findings) and drive continuous improvement across the region

Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree Accounting.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting operations

Other Experience:

• Strong technical accounting (IFRS and US GAAP); solid knowledge of LATAM statutory/tax environments; excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a non-structure, dynamic and fast paced international environment - flexibility, team oriented, collaborative work style and a positive can-do attitude.
• Ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy utilizing strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with multiple functions and teams
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written), necessary for daily interaction with senior management, both within the country and across global corporate functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Direct supervision of in-country service providers (shared services/BPO as applicable).

Travel:  Less than 10%

Computer Skills:

• Advanced Excel; proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/S4HANA, specifically in FICO module) and consolidation/reporting tools (Power BI).
