Senior Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated
Senior Engineer with a specialization or strong interest in Human Factors (HF)
 to support critical projects focused on Human Factors Regulation – specifically within the framework of Brazilian ANP regulations (SGSO, SGIP, SGSS). This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to deepen their expertise in a crucial and evolving area of offshore safety, contributing to the highest operational standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support comprehensive 
  technical assessments related to human factors, and complex regulatory compliance
  , ensuring optimal interaction between personnel, technology, and the environment in Offshore operations.
• Conduct in-depth 
  diagnostic studies, gap analyses, and deliver clear, actionable reports and findings
   that identify areas for human factors improvement and regulatory alignment.
• Develop, implement, and integrate 
  Human Factors Engineering (HFE) philosophies and principles
   into all phases of operational and design lifecycles, from conceptualization to decommissioning.
• Perform
  Human Reliability Analysis (HRA)
   and conduct 
  Minimum Manning studies
   to optimize operational efficiency and enhance safety, ensuring the right number of qualified personnel are available for critical tasks.
• Proactively 
  identify design and operational gaps against relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements
  , particularly with a focus on 
  ANP Technical Note 10 (TN 10)
  , and propose effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Expertly 
  facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions, and engaging discussions
   with diverse stakeholders across engineering, operations, safety, and management departments to drive consensus and solutions.
• Collaborate closely in 
  revising and developing robust procedures, comprehensive training content, and optimized operational protocols
   to embed human factors best practices.
• Work effectively with internal teams and external contractors to 
  drive the successful implementation of human factors improvement plans and recommendations
  .
• Actively support 
  audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  , applying human factors principles to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Monitor, analyze, and report project progress across all phases (planning, execution, and close-out), ensuring key human factors milestones are met.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
   (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Safety, Systems, Industrial, Ergonomics, or a closely related field) from an accredited university. A Master's degree or specialized certification in Human Factors Engineering is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience
  in Offshore installations Projects and Operations, with a significant portion of that experience dedicated to or focused on 
  Human Factors Engineering (HFE)
   or 
  Ergonomics
   within complex industrial environments, preferably in Oil & Gas or a high-hazard industry.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Human Reliability Analysis (HRA) methodologies
   and practical experience in conducting 
  Minimum Manning Studies
  .
• Familiarity with ANP TN 10 and Brazilian regulatory frameworks related to operational safety (e.g., SGSO, SGIP, SGSS)
   is highly desirable. Candidates with exceptional HFE expertise and a proven ability to rapidly learn new regulatory environments are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with developing and applying, HFE philosophies, and conducting comprehensive gap assessments
   against industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  , with excellent ability to understand and produce complex technical documentation and communicate effectively with international teams. 
  Proficiency in Portuguese is highly beneficial
   for engaging with local teams and authorities.
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and facilitation skills
  , with the ability to convey complex HFE concepts to diverse audiences and drive collaborative problem-solving.
• Proven experience working effectively within 
  multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
  , demonstrating strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and keen interest in continuous learning and professional development
   in the evolving field of Human Factors and Process Safety.
