A Day in the LifeThe Senior Product Specialist will be responsible for managing the Diabetes product line to ensure the success and implementation of the Business Unit's strategies, building a vision and direction for this innovative line and related services. Among this professional's responsibilities, a key highlight is his/her sales-driven mindset, being responsible for working collaboratively with other departments to promote our product, increase market share, and engage with the pharmacy channel. The role is dynamic and requires availability for frequent travel, with an expectation of at least 30% travel time, covering national scope and possibly international trips.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Formulate and review short- and long-term corporate plans, goals, and objectives for the portfolio, including product launches and trade marketing
  • Manage the product lifecycle, creating strategies that ensure portfolio sustainability, profitability, and market share growth
  • Monitor the market and competitors, conducting research to identify trends in consumer and stakeholder behavior
  • Support the development and launch of new products, providing market insights, customer needs, and go-to-market strategies
  • Actively manage the pharmacy channel initiatives to increase product penetration in the retail pharmacy sector
  • Design and execute programs to develop and engage physicians and healthcare professionals, including training, scientific events, and relationship-building initiatives to promote the adoption of Medtronic therapies
  • Oversee product inventory management, monitoring stock levels and collaborating with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure proper supply and prevent stock-outs
  • Partner with other departments—such as Sales, Trade, Clinical, Market Access, Finance, Logistics, Bids and Tenders and others—to ensure the execution of strategic planning

Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields (Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, etc.).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in trade marketing.
  • Valid category B driver's license.
  • Availability for travel (approximately 30% of the time, both domestic and international).
  • Advanced English.
  • Advanced Spanish.

Previous experience at medical device companies for Diabetes are considered important differentiators.
