The
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
in Brazil is recruiting a
Finance and Budget Assistant
to support the Climate Change Division. This is a vital role that ensures financial integrity across climate-related projects and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review budgets, financial reports, and disbursement requests
  • Guide executing agencies on financial compliance and reporting standards
  • Track expenditures, monitor fund utilization, and support project audits
  • Maintain financial records, process payments, and reconcile project accounts
  • Support project evaluation, closure, and data accuracy across ERP systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Certified ACCA, CPA, or equivalent (any level) –
    required
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in finance or accounting
  • Fluency in
    Portuguese and English
  • UN system or international development experience is an advantage
