Organizational Setting

UTF/BRA/089/BRA

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.

Technical Focus

To develop innovative strategies and methodologies for planning, integration, monitoring, evaluation and management of strategic actions and programs for the development of Brazilian family farming.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Identify actions and programs of interest to Family Farming;

• Develop strategies, methodologies and parameters to improve monitoring;

• Provide technical subsidies in workshops and meetings relevant to the elaboration of the products, upon demand of DIPRO/SE/MDA;

• Provide support and monitor the action related of this Activities:
o Identify actions and programs of interest to Family Farming;
o Develop strategies, methodologies and parameters to improve monitoring;
o Participate in workshops and meetings relevant to the elaboration of the consulting products, upon demand of DIPRO/SE/MDA;
o Subsidize and monitor the actions developed on the subject of consulting with the agencies involved;
o Prepare the Work Plan and the Products as established in this Call for Expressions of Interest.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Applied Social Sciences, according to the CAPES/CNPq table of areas of knowledge.

• Minimum proven experience of 5 years in public management or state capacities or monitoring and evaluation of public policies.

• Working knowledge of English and Portuguese.

• National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Experience experience in facilitation/moderation of government planning events, in the themes of integration of public policies or institutional arrangements
