General Manager

Location: Kyiv (Hybrid)

Our client, a European technology group providing enterprise IT services across several international markets, is conducting a confidential search for a General Manager to lead its Ukrainian subsidiary (~40 employees).

This position requires a trusted, strategic, and highly ethical leader with strong ties to the Ukrainian IT ecosystem. The General Manager will oversee local operations, financial performance, compliance, client relationships, and alignment with the group's international headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

1. Country leadership & operational management

• Lead all activities of the Ukrainian office (30–40 employees).
• Ensure daily operations run efficiently across sales, delivery, administration, and support functions.
• Build and maintain a culture of accountability, transparency, and professionalism aligned with European corporate standards.

2. Strategic and financial ownership

• Own the P&L of the Ukrainian entity, including budgeting, profitability, and cost management.
• Develop and execute the local business strategy in alignment with global objectives.
• Provide accurate and timely financial and operational reports to the European HQ.

3. Client relationship management

• Act as a senior representative for key enterprise clients in Ukraine.
• Maintain and develop long-term strategic relationships.
• Support key account management activities (partnership development, client retention, pipeline growth).

4. Compliance, governance & ethical leadership

• Ensure transparency, legality, and integrity of all business processes - zero tolerance for informal or non-compliant practices.
• Enforce data protection, non-disclosure, and internal governance standards.
• Uphold the company's reputation, ethical conduct, and group values.

5. Business development & market presence

• Strengthen the company's position in the Ukrainian IT and enterprise ecosystem.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including major IT vendors, partners, and enterprise customers.
• Identify market opportunities and contribute to sustainable growth.

6. Collaboration with European HQ

• Maintain continuous communication with international leadership.
• Implement group-level policies, strategic priorities, and operational guidelines.
• Share insights, risks, and recommendations with the head office.

Requirements
Experience

• 5+ years in senior leadership roles (General Manager, Country Manager, Managing Director, COO, Head of Business Development, etc.).
• Background in IT or telecommunications (IT strongly preferred).
• Proven experience managing operations, people, and financial performance.
• Experience with enterprise customers in Ukraine.

Industry & ecosystem knowledge

• Strong familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure, M365, licensing, enterprise solutions).

• Experience working with or competing against major IT vendors or integrators (e.g., cloud providers, licensing resellers, enterprise service partners).

• Strong professional network in the Ukrainian IT/enterprise market.

Skills

• Excellent English (B2+ / C1) for daily communication with international teams.
• Fluent Ukrainian (mandatory).
• High integrity, reliability, and responsibility critical for this role.
  
  Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on leadership.

Location

• Preferably Kyiv.
• Candidates based in nearby countries are welcome, but must be able to travel to Ukraine regularly to meet clients and teams.
