Job Description – Finance Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support daily financial operations, assist with reporting, and ensure accurate record-keeping. This role is ideal for someone with bookkeeping experience who is eager to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including posting invoices, payments, and journals.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations of bank accounts, suppliers, and other balance sheet items.
  • Support the finance team with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in line with company policies.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders when required.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the finance function.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or Bookkeeper.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Good knowledge of Excel and general IT literacy.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, minimum B2 level (CEFR).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with UK accounting practices and VAT compliance.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From R$4,800.00 per month
