projeto, Carbono Abrolhos.The Project Assistant for CI-Brasil's Carbono Abrolhos initiative supports the implementation of the project, with a special focus on activities in the states of Bahia and Espírito Santo.Responsibilities include contributing to the technical planning of field and operational activities related to climate finance projects and carbon credit origination.The role involves assisting in the preparation of technical progress reports, supporting and monitoring the activities of implementing partners to ensure planned deliverables and expected results are met, and helping to engage local partners and final beneficiaries.The assistant compiles and provides information that supports project implementation and collaborates with other teams, particularly those involved in Climate Finance initiatives and the Restoration Directorate.Finally, the role supports the alignment of project activities with the institution's mission and strategic objectives.ResponsibilitiesSupport for the Implementation of Carbon Credit Origination and Climate Finance ProjectsSupport the implementation of carbon credit origination and climate finance projects at CI-Brasil, contributing to planning, refining deliverables, and improving outcomes linked to the Climate Solutions Directorate.This includes efforts to achieve programmatic and project goals, covering indicators related to financing, people benefited, carbon, and compliance with social and environmental safeguards.Conduct monitoring and evaluation—both in the field and remotely—of the implementation of different phases of carbon credit origination projects and activities carried out by local partners (planning, contracting, engagement, monitoring, and closure), analysis of technical reports, and input into monitoring platforms.Support administrative tasks related to project implementation and stakeholder engagement across different phases of the carbon credit origination process.This includes organizing events, training sessions, producing outreach materials, coordinating technical visits, participating in meetings, and preparing drafts and records.Project Implementation and MonitoringSupport data collection, organization, and systematization related to participating properties (e.g., registration data, available area, land-use practices, etc.).Assist in consolidating technical information required for project audits and third-party verifications.Ensure spreadsheets and databases are kept up to date, maintaining consistency and data quality for technical and financial reporting.Support the preparation of materials for technical meetings, field visits, and certification or verification audits.Contribute to field logistics for engagement, monitoring, or auditing activities (e.g., scheduling, transportation, materials, etc.).Assist in tracking work plans and timelines, flagging any delays or deviations to the coordination team, especially those related to monitoring activities.Communication and Stakeholder EngagementSupport communication and relationship-building with rural landowners participating in the project, answering questions and organizing necessary information to ensure engagement.Assist in organizing meetings, trainings, and workshops with landowners and partners, including logistical support and activity documentation.Contribute to the preparation of simplified reports on the progress of activities with producers and local partners.Help systematize stories, best practices, and lessons learned from the project to support communication materials and donor reporting.Engage with local partners and project beneficiaries through meetings, events, and presentations, helping to maintain stakeholder engagement, especially with rural producers.Support project outreach and engagement during meetings and events as determined by project managers.Participate in field activities related to carbon monitoring (e.g., forest inventories, socio-environmental data collection, and verification of compliance with applicable methodologies).Support the development of specific MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) carbon reports, ensuring quality, clarity, and alignment with internationally recognized standards and methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol, VCS, CCB).Working conditionsFlexible, with frequent field presence in projects located in Southern Bahia and Espírito Santo.Involvement in both administrative tasks and field activities.Regular in-person participation required for meetings, field trips, and other activities, both nationally and internationally, including travel to remote regions within Brazil.Preferably based in the project implementation region – Bahia or Espírito Santo.QualificationsRequiredUp to 2 years of experience in carbon credit origination projects, preferably in forest restoration initiatives.Technical and/or practical knowledge in ecology, conservation, restoration, and carbon projects.Experience with project monitoring and data collection platforms.Ability to support and conduct Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) processes within project contexts.Experience in preparing technical reports and meeting minutes.Strong skills in structuring and facilitating workshops.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the country.Availability for frequent travel.Fluency in Portuguese and intermediate English (with the ability for technical communication) is desirable.Previous experience in the non-profit/NGO sector is an asset.University
