Process Safety Consultant – Offshore Oil & Gas

We are looking for a
Process Safety Consultant
to join our portfolio of high-impact offshore projects within the Brazilian Oil & Gas industry. This role is designed for professionals who value technical rigor, regulatory excellence, and the proven methodologies that have long safeguarded offshore operations. You will act as a trusted technical authority, supporting assets through the full lifecycle of operational safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance — ensuring operational continuity, integrity, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a
    technical reference in Process Safety
    for offshore production units, especially FPSOs.
  • Lead and participate in
    APR / What-If, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, BowTie and SIL-related studies
    , ensuring high-quality deliverables and effective implementation of recommendations.
  • Support and maintain
    SGSO, SGIP and SGSS management systems
    , fully aligned with
    ANP regulations
    and Brazilian offshore requirements.
  • Participate in
    regulatory audits
    , inspections, and technical reviews, supporting action plans, deviation management, and incident investigations.
  • Provide technical and operational support focused on
    risk control, barrier management, asset integrity and operational excellence
    .
  • Interface with operations, engineering, and project teams to ensure robust
    Management of Change (MOC)
    processes.
  • Prepare
    technical reports, dashboards, and safety performance indicators
    , supporting data-driven decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in
    Process Safety and/or Operational Safety
    within the
    Oil & Gas industry
    , preferably in
    offshore environments
    .
  • Demonstrated exposure to
    FPSO operations
    and familiarity with
    ANP regulatory frameworks
    .
  • Solid knowledge of
    HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, APR/What-If, BowTie, SIL concepts and MOC
    .
  • Engineering degree (Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical or related);
    postgraduate specialization in Process Safety
    is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, with strong analytical mindset and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced English
    for technical communication and documentation.

Work Location

  • Preferably based in
    Rio de Janeiro or surrounding areas
    .
  • Availability for occasional offshore assignments
    .
