Position Summary: Controller Director, Latin America

Location: Campinas/SP

The Controller Director, Latin America, leads Controllership, Governance, and Risk activities for all FMC operations in Latin America (including Mexico). Reporting to both the Americas Regional CFO and the VP, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, this role requires strong matrix management skills and is part of the LATAM leadership team.

The Role (daily responsibilities)

  • Oversee the financial accounting function to ensure proper maintenance of accounting systems, policies and procedures in support of Latin America business operations in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closings and financial reporting for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Primary Liaison point for External and Internal Auditors for Latin America region.
  • Managing the relationship with the Cork Shared Service Center (accounting, expense processing, fixed assets records, payroll).
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax and other stakeholders to enhance financial performance and controls.
  • Ad Hoc project management: for example - M&A due diligence and integration at the direction of others, systems implementations, changes in reporting due to changes in regulatory environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • CPA/MBA preferred
  • Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish are desirable
  • Experience overseeing internal control environment and strong operational experience in this area as well
  • Experience with statutory and regulatory reporting
  • At least 10 year's experience in multinational company
  • Knowledge of SAP operating system a plus, and experience in the implementation of integrated operational systems also a plus
  • Strong technical accounting background in US GAAP and how that translates in a practical way to ensure strong internal controls across the region.
  • Manufacturing background a plus
