Company Description

Squanto Group is a Single Family Office established by a French-Brazilian national, dedicated to pursuing sophisticated and high-caliber investment opportunities. As a family-office-backed hedge fund we are seeking a hands-on COO to own the full operational stack: trading operations, treasury, counterparty management, risk oversight, and performance analytics. The ideal candidate blends deep Brazilian an International Finance market knowledge with execution rigor—able to design processes and also roll up their sleeves to run Daily P&L, resolve breaks, and negotiate leverage lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Leadership:
    Expand and run middle/back-office processes (trade capture, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, corporate actions, cash & collateral).
  • Daily P&L & Analytics:
    Own daily NAV/P&L supervision, drivers and attribution; track ROE/ROA, liquidity and funding metrics; establish KPI dashboards.
  • Risk & Controls:
    Oversee enterprise and
    counterparty risk
    ; set limits, margin frameworks, and monitoring; drive incident management and remediation.
  • Counterparties & Docs:
    Lead international counterparty onboarding; negotiate
    ISDA/CSAs
    , PB/FCM agreements, brokerage docs, and service-levels.
  • Leverage & Liquidity:
    Negotiate
    credit lines/leverage
    (PB, TRS, repo, FX lines); manage collateral optimization and margin calls.
  • Treasury:
    Supervision of cash forecasting, capital calls/distributions, FX funding, fees and expense accruals.
  • Governance & Compliance (in partnership with Legal/Compliance):
    Operational policies, audit readiness, recordkeeping, and regulatory filings (as applicable to jurisdictions).
  • People & Vendors:
    Manage a lean team and vendor ecosystem (admins, fund admin, auditors, custodians, PBs, OMS/PMS).

Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years in hedge fund/asset management/prop trading operations, with
    global markets
    exposure (derivatives, FX, fixed income, equities, structured products).
  • Proven experience
    negotiating ISDA/CSA
    and
    leverage/credit lines
    with international counterparties.
  • Strong
    counterparty risk
    expertise; comfort with margining, VaR/Greeks awareness, stress testing concepts.
  • Demonstrated track record running
    Daily P&L/NAV
    ,
    managerial analysis
    , and
    ROE
    reporting for investment teams and principals.
  • Hands-on mindset: willing to own processes end-to-end and jump into reconciliations and break resolution when needed.
  • Technical skills:
    Advanced Excel;
    Power BI
    (or similar BI); scripting/programming for automation (e.g., Python/VBA/SQL).
  • OMS/PMS familiarity;
    Enfusion
    experience is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in
    English
    ; ability to interface with global PBs, custodians, and admins.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to performance fee calculations, side pockets, SPVs, feeders/masters.
  • Understanding of tax/ops nuances for family offices.
