This role in summary

In this role, you will lead the Architecture & Engineering organization responsible for shaping the technology landscape across Brazil and Latin America. You will enable secure, scalable, and cloud-driven platforms that support business strategy, accelerate digital transformation, and drive modernization across enterprise systems — including AWS, GCP, SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, Salesforce and integration platforms.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of Architects, Cloud Engineers, DevOps, and Platform Engineers to define enterprise architecture standards, deliver reference architectures, improve engineering practices, and implement platform engineering capabilities that empower squads with self-service, automation, and continuous delivery.

This position requires both strategic leadership and deep technical understanding, strong executive presence, and the ability to influence technology direction at multiple levels.

Your responsibilities will include
Leadership & Strategy

• Lead and develop a high-performing Architecture & Engineering team, promoting collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
• Define and evolve the Enterprise Architecture & DevSecOps strategy, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and global IT roadmaps.
• Supports multiple value streams across the enterprise and oversees the overall architecture strategy
  Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing priorities, investments, and technology adoption decisions.

Architecture

• Translates business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all solution architecture design and analysis work
• Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB), ensuring architectural compliance, security controls, and use of reference patterns.
• Own and mature Application Portfolio Management (APM) to support rationalization, modernization, and cost optimization decisions.
• Guide modernization journeys across cloud, data, API integration, and enterprise applications.
• Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements
• Supports technical managers in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes and information
• Understands emerging technology trends and disruptions and their practical application to enable new and evolving business and operating models
• Facilitates the evaluation, selection and TCO of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations
• Defines the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision

Cloud Architecture (AWS & GCP)

• Establish and maintain AWS and GCP reference architectures, covering:
• Networking and identity patterns (VPC, IAM, Landing Zones)
• Security and compliance guardrails
• Container orchestration and serverless architectures
• Observability (Grafana, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting)
  Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Ansible to ensure consistent, automated, and secure provisioning.

DevSecOps & Platform Engineering

• Scale Platform Engineering capabilities to enable developer self-service environments, automated infrastructure, and secure-by-design patterns.
• Establish and evolve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, quality gates, and shift-left security using Bitbucket Pipelines, SonarCloud, and Veracode.
  Mature monitoring and SRE practices to improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Technology leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience designing solutions on AWS and/or GCP cloud platforms.
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and processing environments. Preference will be given to experience with
• Integration of multiple platforms, SAP architectures, preferably including S/4HANA or SAP BTP.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps.
• Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models
• Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt
• Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps
• Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and information technology infrastructure library (ITIL)

Preferred skills and experiences

• Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
• Skilled at understanding the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
• Proficient in translating future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements
• Experience implementing Platform Engineering / Self-Service Developer Platforms.
• Experience leading Application Rationalization and modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with API Management platforms (Apigee, WSO2) and event-driven / microservices architectures.
• Certifications such as AWS, GCP, TOGAF, DevOps, or SAP Cloud.
• Experience in multi-country or global matrix environments.
• Effective interpersonal skills to work creatively and analytically for solving business problems and propose solutions
• Excellent communication and ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams
• English Advanced level
• Spanish is a plus.
