About This Role

We're looking for a Firmware Engineer to take ownership of embedded systems projects while contributing to our growing engineering team. You'll work on diverse firmware development projects, collaborate with hardware engineers, and have opportunities to influence technical decisions and mentor junior developers.

Your work will range from our own USB host adapters to custom embedded solutions for major clients. You'll solve real-time system challenges, work with resource-constrained environments, and integrate closely with hardware teams to create products that shape how leading companies develop hardware. In this role, you'll have the autonomy to drive implementation decisions while developing your expertise.

Main Responsibilities

• Expert CAD Design — Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings in Fusion 360 for internal products and client consulting projects
• Design for Manufacturing — Optimize designs for machining, injection molding, anodizing, and complex assemblies including electronic housings and PCB integration
• Rendering & Visualization — Produce photorealistic renderings, animations, and visualizations — ideally using Fusion 360 and/or Blender, though other professional tools (KeyShot, Maya, 3ds Max, V-Ray, etc.) are also acceptable
• Rapid Prototyping — Lead 3D printing and prototyping efforts to validate designs and support iterative development
• Manufacturing Documentation — Create comprehensive drawings, assembly instructions, and specifications that meet industry standards
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration — Work closely with electrical and firmware engineers to ensure seamless mechanical–electrical integration
• Supplier & Manufacturing Interface — Partner with manufacturers to refine designs for cost efficiency, quality, and scalability
• Quality Assurance — Ensure all designs meet functional, aesthetic, regulatory, and production requirements
• Innovation & Research — Explore and implement new design techniques, materials, and processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of CAD design experience with a manufacturing focus
• Autodesk Certified Professional or Certified Expert in Fusion 360 Design for Manufacturing
• Advanced technical drawing skills, including dimensioning per ANSI standards
• DFM expertise for machining, injection molding, and anodized assemblies
• Rendering expertise, ideally in Fusion 360 and/or Blender; other professional tools (KeyShot, Maya, 3ds Max, V-Ray, etc.) also acceptable
• Strong understanding of materials, tolerances, constraints, and scaling for production
• Experience with electronics enclosure design and PCB integration
• 3D printing and prototyping expertise across multiple technologies and materials
• Able to communicate effectively in English for international collaboration
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with ability to balance aesthetics and function

Preferred

• Experience with robotics design and complex mechanical assemblies
• Experience creating motion graphics for technical presentations
• Knowledge of supply chain considerations and vendor management
• Experience with automated manufacturing processes and production optimization
• Cost analysis and value engineering expertise
• Understanding of additive manufacturing design optimization
