Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy.For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract.Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.ContextUnder the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer, the Project Assistant (M&E and Data Management) is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:Responsibilities: 1.Support the coordination, which includes analysis plan design, questionnaire proposal, interviewer training, data cleaning and report products;2.Enhance and implements the existing information management strategy to ensure accurate and appropriate data (population figures, activities implemented by partners, etc.) collected, stored, analyzed, and shared in a timely manner;3.Provide data analysis for operational decision-making and the elaboration/update of strategic documents;4.Produce and update Information Management products such as reports, charts, interactive maps, and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline;5.Support research, assessment and needs analysis activities, including humanitarian needs overviews, secondary data reviews, preliminary scenario definitions and multi-sector assessments/Provide advice on assessment design to ensure data quality, provide support with the design and development of surveys;6.Adhere to IOM data protection policy, data governance standard, data security standard, ICT standard, and consider best practices and lessons learned on ethical data collection, data sharing and dissemination;7.Performs any other duties as required.Qualifications: EducationUniversity degree in information technology, data science, computer sciences, statistics, demography, social sciences or any other related field, statistics, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum two years of relevant professional experience.Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database .Experience • Experience with data management and data analysis to support policy formulation and implementation;• Experience with handling confidential data and demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies;• Ability to formulate questionnaires and data collection tools.Knowledge in program planning and implementation of objectives;• Experience in developing and implementing visualization reports/dashboard with Bi Software.A good command of Excel is required;• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to prepare clear and concise products.Languages • For this position, fluency in Portuguese (oral and written);• English (working knowledge) are required.Desirable• Spanish.IOM's official languages are English, French and Spanish.Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.Required Competencies IOM's competency framework can be found at this link .Competencies will be assessed during the selection process.Values -
