All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, protected veteran status, or disability status.DescriptionMarkon is actively seeking a mechanical engineer to perform the following tasks on the construction of a new embassy compound:ResponsibilitiesKnowledge of International Codes required.Developing working knowledge of all technical requirements of project.Providing Quality Assurance for ongoing construction project.Reviewing contractor submittals.Preparing responses to Requests for Information (RFI) for questions related to engineering.Evaluating proposed submittal substitutions with engineering implications; makes recommendations to the Project Director.Coordinating the development of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders.Reviewing and evaluating design calculations and data from an engineering perspective.Preparing Monthly Progress Report summarizing project status, with emphasis on engineering.Reviewing contractor's Requests for Equitable Adjustment and formulates written recommendations for consideration by the Project Director.QualificationsMust have an ABET accredited Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or active P.E. from the U.S.Must have an active Secret U.S. clearance.Must have 7+ years of construction management experience.Salary RangeUSD $130, USD $135,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
