OverviewJoin Avalara Brasil as a Senior Software Engineering Manager.
This role leads multiple engineering teams responsible for building core components of Avalara's tax technology platform.
It offers the opportunity to shape technical direction, improve engineering excellence, and deliver services that power compliance solutions for global customers.
The position reports to a Senior Director of Software Engineering and is fully remote—located anywhere in Brazil.What Your Responsibilities Will BeOversee engineering teams building and maintaining .
NET-based microservices running on cloud infrastructure.Guide engineers through all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Support, and other engineering leaders to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions aligned with Avalara's strategic goals.Coach engineers and managers, ensure effective agile execution across squads, and improve code quality, automation, and system performance.Contribute to roadmap planning, influence technology decisions, and foster a high-trust, high-performance culture across the department.What You'll Need To Be SuccessfulExperience managing software engineering teams, including people leadership and career development.Experience delivering complex, cloud-native systems using agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Hands-on experience with .
NET technologies and distributed microservices.Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, cost efficiency).
