AgileEngine is an Inc. 5000 company that creates award-winning software for Fortune 500 brands and trailblazing startups across 17+ industries.We rank among the leaders in areas like application development and AI/ML, and our people-first culture has earned us multiple Best Place to Work awards.WHY JOIN USIf you're looking for a place to grow, make an impact, and work with people who care, we'd love to meet youABOUT THE ROLEAs a Database Migration Specialist, you will spearhead the transformation of cloud-based databases into high-performance, self-hosted solutions, delivering cost savings and stronger operational control.You'll lead end-to-end migration strategies, optimize performance, and ensure robust security, while collaborating with a skilled, innovative team.This role offers a unique chance to shape critical infrastructure, expand expertise in PostgreSQL/MySQL, and make a lasting impact on system resilience and efficiency.WHAT YOU WILL DOPlan & Assess: Audit current RDS setup, run cost analysis, define migration strategy, risk plan, and infra requirements;Build & Secure: Configure self-hosted DB servers, implement HA clustering/replication, harden security, and deploy monitoring/alerting with automated backups;Migrate & Validate: Execute zero-downtime migration, update app connections, verify data integrity, benchmark performance, and maintain rollback options;Document & Transfer: Deliver runbooks, dashboards, maintenance schedules, and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions with internal teams;Maintain & Support: Provide ongoing optimization, backup/DR validation, and performance monitoring post-migration.MUST HAVES5+ years of experience with database administration and migrations;Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL;Proven experience migrating from AWS RDS to self-hosted solutions;Strong Linux system administration skills;Experience with database clustering and replication (e.g., RDS, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL);Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery solutions;Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Ansible, or similar);Upper-Intermediate English level.NICE TO HAVESPrevious cost optimization projects with documented savings;Experience with database performance tuning and optimization;Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes);Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix);AWS to on-premises migration experience;Database security and compliance best practices.PERKS AND BENEFITSProfessional growth: Accelerate your professional journey with mentorship, TechTalks, and personalized growth roadmaps.Competitive compensation: We match your ever-growing skills, talent, and contributions with competitive USD-based compensation and budgets for education, fitness, and team activities.A selection of exciting projects: Join projects with modern solutions development and top-tier clients that include Fortune 500 enterprises and leading product brands.Flextime: Tailor your schedule for an optimal work-life balance, by having the options of working from home and going to the office – whatever makes you the happiest and most productive.We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.#J-18808-Ljbffr
