The Product Engineering team in Thomson Reuters is a key component in our AI strategy combining industry-leading AI technology solutions with unmatched content and services. About the Role


As a Senior Technical Project Manager within the Product Engineering organization focused on our research products, you will play a critical role in ensuring successful delivery of complex projects that are aligned with the overall strategy for Thomson Reuters Labs. You will work closely with stakeholders, understand their needs, identify risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them while managing project scope, budget, timelines, and resources. Your expertise in technical project management, coupled with your ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, makes you a valuable asset to our organization.

The challen

• Lead large-scale, high visibility technology projects that contribute to the success of Thomson Reuters.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define project objectives, establish project governance, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Work closely with key stakeholders, including product management, engineering, marketing, sales, finance, and customer support, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets using advanced project management tools and techniques.
• Identify potential risks and issues early on and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
• Monitor progress against project milestones and adjust course as needed to ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
• Ensure quality control standards are met through regular reviews of project deliverables and documentation.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
• Assess and communicate project status, providing regular updates to stakeholders and executive sponsors.
• Document lessons learned and best practices for future projects, contributing to the development of a knowledge base for repeatable successes.

​• Follow Thomson Reuters Labs' ways-of-working, Agile project management and Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
 

About You - Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). Master's degree preferred but not required.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex AI technology projects, preferably in the legal industry.

• Strong technical understanding of AI technology from companies OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS, Azure, GCP including open source models such as Llama and Mistral.
• Excellent understanding of project management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and experience leading agile projects would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and testing processes.
• Proficiency in project planning and management tools such as ADO, JIRA, MS Project, or similar applications.
