Cherry Bekaert has been proudly providing Accounting and Advisory services to our clients for over 75 years We are seeking a Property Tax Senior . The location is flexible and remote would be considered. Some of our larger offices include Atlanta, DC, Richmond, Raleigh, Charlotte, Tampa and South Florida.

• Support the development and execution of property tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities across the company’s real estate portfolio.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of property tax returns and related documentation.
• Conduct due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions, identifying property tax implications and opportunities.
• Stay informed on changes in property tax laws, regulations, and assessment practices across jurisdictions, and communicate updates to leadership.
• Collaborate with internal teams including finance, accounting, legal, and asset management to support integrated tax planning and reporting.
• Assist in negotiations with taxing authorities to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Maintain relationships with external property tax consultants, appraisers, and legal advisors.
• Prepare and manage property tax budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Utilize property tax software and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on property tax matters.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in property tax management, preferably within a real estate organization, public accounting firm, or corporation with significant real estate holdings.
• Strong understanding of property tax law, valuation methodologies, and assessment appeal processes.
• Proven ability to manage and reduce property tax liabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional certifications such as CMI, CCIM, MAI, or similar are a plus.

The salary range for this position is included below. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.
