Oxitec's technology has been studied and analyzed by independent researchers, academics and independent collaborators for more than a decade, with more than 100 scientific, peer-reviewed papers published on our work. **Our History**
Oxitec was formed in 2002 by Oxford University Innovation and, in 2015, was acquired by U.S.based Intrexon.
Since inception, Oxitec has pioneered work on controlling insects that spread disease and damage crops through world-class genetic engineering and the use of self-limiting gene technology. In the mid and late 2000s, Oxitec successfully deployed genetically engineered insects in select locations in the USA, Caribbean, South America, and has continued to grow these projects, expanding to new regions and countries.
In 2016, the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a positive recommendation in support of Oxitec's self-limiting mosquitoes (OX513A) for a planned pilot in response to the Zika virus outbreak. Oxitec continues to engage with communities around the world that are in need of effective, scalable solutions to combat the dangerous vectors that threaten lives and livelihoods.
Oxitec is a subsidiary of Intrexon Corporation ( NASDAQ: XON), which engineers biology to help solve some of the world's biggest problems.

**Purpose of the job**
Oxitec Brazil is at the forefront of advancing ground-breaking solutions to save lives and improve livelihoods. We are now seeking an experienced, dedicated and passionate individual to **build and lead **a new **commercial operation nationally **for our **mosquito technologies **. You will have a proven track record of **developing and managing effective go-to-market campaigns **for **innovative products in various market segments **(government, commercial, consumer).
In addition you will also have significant experience in all of the supporting efforts to do so, including **market analysis, hiring and developing sales teams, pricing and commercial policies aligned with the Brazilian market and channels, managing digital, direct, and distribution sales, mapping new markets, building public & private partnerships, developing and nurturing commercial networks **, and generally rolling up sleeves to generate commercial success. This position reports directly to the Country Director and is based in Campinas, Sao Paulo, with continuous interaction with the Global BD division.
**Responsibilities**:
- Build and deliver commercial sales growth in Brazil for Oxitec's mosquito solutions.
- Build and lead a team of sales and customer support experts to serve a broad range of customers, including governments, commercial enterprises, and consumers.
- Actively seek and close equitable and sustainable partnerships with customers in both public and private sectors via e-commerce, direct, distribution, and licensing formats.
- Generate and manage a robust sales pipeline and funnel process.
- Conduct market analysis, set and manage segment pricing and commercial policies for all channels, create sales forecasts, and manage to commercial targets clearly and consistently.
- Seek out and secure market partnerships.
- Manage the delivery of commercial contracts in line with local regulations, customer needs and guidelines to support the company's growth.
- Manage an S&OP process, bringing along all internal stakeholders in Operations, Business Development, Commercial, Marketing, and CX.
- Communicate clearly with all internal stakeholders including Senior Leadership, R&D, Operations, Marketing and Business Development divisions in Brazil and globally.
