About the Role As a Senior Underwriter Agriculture, you'll be at the forefront of agricultural risk management in Latin America, combining your technical expertise with business acumen to drive sustainable growth. You'll evaluate complex agricultural risks, develop innovative solutions, and build strategic partnerships that strengthen Swiss Re's market-leading position across the region. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management: Jointly responsible for portfolio performance and high-quality underwriting and costing for LatAm agriculture reinsurance business, adhering to SwissRe's underwriting guidelines and best practices Client Relationships: Deepen client relationships, build strategic partnerships, and develop differentiated services/solutions to ensure Swiss Re remains the first choice in the market Strategic Support: Assist the Agriculture Head LATAM in executing the Agriculture reinsurance portfolio and client strategy across the region Solution Development: Support the agriculture team in developing new agriculture(re)insurance business by designing tailor-made solutions for both public and private sector clients Network Building: Establish and maintain a strong network of personal relationships at executive level with insurers, regulators, governments and academia Thought Leadership: Expand our thought leadership position and showcase our diverse skills and services throughout the market About the Team Swiss Re is a global leader in agricultural reinsurance. You will work with a strong global team of more than 30 Agriculture reinsurance specialists based in Beijing, Zurich, Singapore, Mumbai, Mexico and Sao Paulo. You will also collaborate closely with SwissRe's agriculture R&D unit, where you'll gain in-depth knowledge and experience in Swiss Re's agriculture reinsurance modeling and new product development. About You You're a forward-thinking agricultural insurance professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving complex challenges. Your analytical mindset is balanced by excellent relationship-building skills, allowing you to connect with stakeholders at all levels while delivering innovative solutions that meet market needs. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of work experience in Agriculture insurance or reinsurance underwriting or business development with a solid network and market knowledge in LatAm Agriculture(re)insurance market High proficiency in data analytics and probabilistic modeling approaches, especially for LatAm Agriculture insurance primary market Effective communication skills and solid working relationships with various stakeholders, including C‑Suite clients Nice to Haves Highly self‑motivated with the ability to inspire, engage, empower, and develop team members Resilience and agility to adapt to demanding and changing market environments Strong problem‑solving skills and innovative thinking, with passion for taking on new initiatives Knowledge of emerging technologies in agricultural risk management Master's degree or higher in Agriculture, Actuarial Science, Natural Sciences, Insurance or other related disciplines Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
