About This Position
We are seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to shape and drive the IDB Group’s talent solutions strategy. Under the direct supervision of the Talent Management Division Chief, you will lead the design and execution of initiatives that address current and future workforce needs. Your portfolio will include strategic talent planning, talent conversations, mobility frameworks, and succession planning—ensuring the IDB Group is equipped with the right talent to deliver on its mission.
You will work in the Talent Management Division, part of the Human Resources Department (HRD). The Human Resources Department administers and develops the human capital of the IDB Group. The main functions include managing the employee lifecycle, overseeing the People Strategy, and implementing programs to support the IDB’s mission. HRD partners with professionals who are passionate about improving lives in Latin America and the Caribbean.
What you’ll do- Manage the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of high-impact, cross-organizational talent management practices. Apply an understanding of current and future talent needs to align with institutional priorities.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to develop methodologies that identify client needs and translate business objectives into innovative, client-focused HR solutions. Ensure solutions are responsive, scalable, and aligned with organizational strategy.
- Develop and operationalize mechanisms that embed talent management across the organization. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of talent prepared to assume key regional roles.
- Design and implement integrated processes, systems, and policies that institutionalize talent management practices. Ensure frameworks are data-informed, agile, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Lead the development and execution of the IDB Group’s mobility framework to promote cross-functional and cross-regional career growth. Foster internal mobility to enhance agility and development.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive portfolio of Talent Solutions—Talent Planning, Talent Conversations, Mobility, and Succession Planning—to elevate talent practices and drive workforce outcomes.
- Lead the Talent Solutions team to generate actionable programs and initiatives for HRD and organizational leaders to inform decisions and enhance talent management and workforce planning.
- Advise and present insights from analysis and market research to support leadership decisions in talent management.
- Master's degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in talent solutions, including staff mobility programs, talent identification and development, succession planning, and leading major transformations in multinational environments.
- Strong technical background with knowledge of leading-edge HRD programs, systems, and practices; with a focus on talent management.
- Ability to translate client needs into policies, processes, and systems; innovative and practical in approach.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of market trends, competition, and culture.
- Ability to align business goals with new approaches and drive continuous improvement in Talent management.
- Strategic thinking with hands-on ability to design and manage complex processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with stakeholders; sound judgment and emotional intelligence.
- People management skills: organizing, delegating, coaching, and developing staff.
- Collaborative team player who can inspire trust and align with the IDB Group’s mission and values.
- Languages: Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required. Proficiency in another Bank language (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) is highly desired.
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48-member countries. Relocation and visa assistance may be offered for you and eligible dependents.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity (including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement
