The role is a professional partnership with the Commercial Director, the Boutique Director, and Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support and drive the achievement of commercial business objectives, to enhance client engagement and uphold the Maison service standards. The position develops the boutique team’s skillset through on-the-floor coaching to elevate the in-store guest experiences, with an emphasis on welcoming and hospitality, effective selling and cross-selling techniques, product savoir-faire, storytelling, and cultivation of client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Coaching to Drive Business Performance: observe guest experiences, provide in-the-moment coaching of the sales, service, and client experience teams, covering selling skills, client development, and client experience.
  • Align boutique coaching with key commercial priorities and KPIs (conversion rates, average transaction value, client retention, etc.), and integrate these into the coaching plan in collaboration with Retail and the client team.
  • Craft boutique visit agendas and priorities using key performance data trends to develop targeted coaching plans.
  • Provide shoulder-to-shoulder coaching on the floor to develop the team, enhance sales techniques, storytelling and clienteling skills, and deliver real-time feedback.
  • Observe and implement boutique morning briefs during visits; provide feedback to leaders to improve daily communication and learning moments.
  • Complete post-visit boutique reports summarizing coaching goals, progress, setbacks, and priorities with actions for boutique team members, HR, and regional leadership.
  • Submit a brief weekly summary to the Director of Commercial and Director of HR/Learning & Development highlighting actions, accomplishments, and progress on commercial initiatives.
  • Support boutique leadership development through side-by-side coaching of leaders and assess progress of their coaching ability to drive team performance.
  • Use data metrics to track coaching impact on key commercial priorities; address gaps and adjust coaching plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial leadership and HR to review development plans and elevate performance; reinforce seamless integration of new hires.
  • Assist boutiques in embracing the company’s values, vision, and strategy; communicate boutique dynamics and training needs to Regional HR; implement HQ programs in line with regional strategy.
  • Training & Facilitation: leverage the learning curriculum to facilitate in-boutique trainings on selling skills, client development, client experience, and product knowledge.
  • Conduct structured sessions on brand heritage, product knowledge, luxury service, and etiquette; lead learning & development activities for new openings, relocations, or renovations.
  • Foster a robust learning culture and champion Cartier’s Learner Experience Platform, MyLearning, as part of a holistic development journey; mentor and motivate a high-performance sales culture.
  • Inspire teams by embodying the brand’s luxury DNA and service excellence; organize best-practice sharing sessions and stay updated on market trends and evolving client expectations in luxury retail.
Position Qualifications
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify performance gaps and develop solutions.
  • Business acumen to read and infer meaning from sales reports; ability to build cross-functional relationships and credibility with internal partners.
  • Self-awareness and adaptable interpersonal communication style for diverse teams; proactive in innovating solutions to improve sales and client experience.
  • Three to five years of coaching experience in a sales environment with emphasis on selling skills, client development, client experience, and leadership development (preferred).
  • Ability to develop and deliver original presentations for meetings and training; collaborate with instruction design teams on content creation.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; previous management or learning & development experience is preferred.
  • Background in luxury retail products is a plus; fluency in English and Portuguese is required (Spanish a plus); college degree in a related area is a plus.
  • Travel: ability to accommodate 60% - 70% travel; time in-boutique: 80% - 90%.
