The Market Access Manager, is focused on supporting the development and responsible for the implementation of the field-based market access strategy for Rare Disease Business Unit in-line and pipeline products.
This function will drive the development and pull-through of brand value proposition, access strategy and tactics for payer audiences (public and private). It is also responsible for demonstrating ongoing strategic leadership across the organization to profile the payer landscape, develop strategies to achieve overall access goals of our medicines and create payer messaging that improves and evolves the value of Amgen's Rare Diseases therapies across Brazilian payers in all segments.
The Market Access Manager is accountable for supervising and improving targeted account performance, key account prioritization, and development of market access strategies and tactics to achieve efficient, profitable access.
The role will play a key part in broadening the organization's customer engagement, building strategic relationships with payers, budget holders and other market access team members at a national and regional account level (public and private) to ultimately help drive uptake of our novel product and pave the way for upcoming assets.
**Responsibilities**:
- Identify, map, and prioritize key national and regional team members and relevant decision makers to ensure optimal patient access to the product
- Responsible for the development and implementation of robust market access account plans aligned with the business objectives and brand strategies
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge, expertise and insight for assigned payers and payer systems (national and regional team members)
- Develop regional/account HTA/Market access submissions in the required regions that are aligned with Market Access strategy and in coordination with Medical and Commercial teams
- Based on business demands, lead key projects and initiatives that require significant cross functional responsibilities and guide the resolution of sophisticated access challenges through innovation and proactive team member engagement and solutions
- Provide input into the development and support of the brand value concept and contribute to develop the appropriate tools for the delivery of the brand value messages to market access team members
- Build strategic collaborative partnerships with vital team members at national and regional level (public and private)
- Ensure the targeted delivery of payer engagement materials & tools, such as Value Propositions, Budget Impact Models and other relevant resources
- Identify and drive projects and collaborations with target States, HMOs and other customers that improve health outcomes and further brand awareness
- Analyze local access issues and opportunities, anticipating changes in the local healthcare landscape
- Continuously appraise the evolving landscape with a focus on understanding the implications for rare diseases and other low prevalence disorders
- Serve as point of contact with cross-functional partners to guide strategies and plans for broader and deeper market access engagement with KOLs, payer membership educations and other key constituents within Horizon's payer customer base
- Interact directly with commercial and medical, field-based teams to implement key success access projects
- Ensure timely and feedback of market access intelligence to inform strategy
- Using insight from the field, collaborate with the wider team on refinement of the in-year strategy
- Work collaboratively with the full cross-functional team
**Qualifications and Skills Required**:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in economics, pharmacy, life sciences or related field
- 5+ years of related experiences in the field of regional market access is mandatory
- Demonstrated understanding of price and reimbursement landscape, processes, requirements in Brazil
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional matrix
- Strong social skills in relationship development, especially with payers across all levels
- Experience in strategic planning/contributing to a national business strategy
- An understanding of legal and regulatory issues impacting health economics labelling and promotional claims
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Professional, proactive demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills
