Job Description: As a member of the Brazil Marketing team, the Sr. Marketing Manager - Sponsorships and Partnerships will oversee and expand sponsorship platforms in Brazil to drive business outcomes across the brand, clients, and products. The role involves managing and diversifying the sponsorship portfolio, including partners, assets, talent, and services, while collaborating with internal functions, external partners, and agencies globally and regionally. Additionally, this individual will develop new local sponsorship assets and support core and client marketing teams in strategy, selling, and execution.

Reporting Relationship: Sr. Director Client Marketing & Sponsorships

Key Relationships/Stakeholders: Global and Regional Sponsorship Teams, Integrated Marketing Teams, Client Marketing Services, Legal, Business Stakeholders (Regional & Local), Governance & Sourcing, Agencies & Partners.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Position global sponsorship platforms to drive impactful outcomes that deliver against the company’s brand, product, and client objectives.
  2. Lead property management for local and regional sponsorships, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of sponsorship properties.
  3. Develop and execute new sponsorship/partnership assets to enhance local portfolio.
  4. Partner with Global Sponsorship Strategy & Regions to further develop global and regional opportunities for client activation.
  5. Create budget proposals annually and per property, maintain positive ROI across channels including brand measurements.
  6. Drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations, updates, and strategic planning initiatives for clients.
  7. Be a key strategic player in transforming brand assets into marketing value-added services for clients.
  8. Create differentiation among standard assets ensuring asset enhancement in full potential and recognized as unique.
  9. Lead all executions related to sponsorships & partnerships, coordinating with all internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Lead contractual negotiations, manage asset allocation, contract breaches, enhancements, and amendments.
  11. Build and maintain a sponsorship Center of Excellence including industry trends, competitive landscape, and measurement.
  12. Evaluate regional sponsorship strategies and property/asset negotiations.
  13. Lead regular competitive analysis, social monitoring, and updates across the business to protect strategic investments.
  14. Integrate with regions and market – identifying and amplifying local and regional sponsorship opportunities or strategies.
  15. Implement and oversee a standardized set of sponsorship policies, procedures, and processes.
  16. Facilitate sharing of learnings and strategies across global and local sponsorship teams, functional partners, and agencies.
  17. Lead agency relationships, contracts, statements of work, procurement, and budget management.
  18. Partner with functional teams across Global Sponsorship as well as Global Brand Strategy, Global Marketing Services, Global Digital and Social Leads, Research & Insights, MS&A, and Strategy Planning.
  19. Lead partnerships with business partners – Finance, Sourcing, HR, Audit, and other external departments with respect to overall sponsorship requests.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of sponsorship and partnership experience, with at least 5+ years in a managerial role overseeing global and regional projects.
  2. Higher education BS or MBA.
  3. Proven experience in developing and managing sponsorship deals with major brands and events.
  4. Strong understanding of market trends and experience in leveraging sponsorships to drive business results.
  5. Demonstrated success in creating and executing innovative sponsorship strategies that align with business objectives.
  6. Commercially astute and emotionally intelligent leader able to engage with outside partners, global/regional marketing teams, and influence business decisions and stakeholders.
  7. Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, leading by influence and example.
  8. Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of marketing business problems.
  9. Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders.
  10. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  11. Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to executives, senior managers, and external business partners.
  12. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with global functions and regions.
  13. Collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills.
  14. Experience managing external vendors and agency partners with excellent relationship skills.
  15. A demonstrated ability to integrate information from a wide variety of sources to arrive at optimal problem solutions and offer innovative alternatives and options towards resolution.
  16. Written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to all executive corporate levels with impact.
  17. A demonstrated understanding of finance to support the department and an ability to summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision-making.
  18. Proficient with all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  19. Knowledge of local market dynamics and regional cultural relevance in Brazil.
  20. Experience in working with both traditional and digital marketing channels to maximize sponsorship impact.
