We have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Internal Control Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the audit team, providing consistent and appropriate support as well as practical advice to the different parts of the audit team. They will adapt procedures when required and ensure their relevance to support accurate reconciliations safeguarding the business against financial loss.

You Bring:
• 2 Years practical auditing/accounting experience
• Computer literate
• Valid driver’s license

A Bonus To Have:
• Completed or studying towards auditing qualification will be advantageous
• Completed SAICA articles
• Knowledge of Pastel Evolution
• Own transport

What You’ll Do For The Brand:

Financial Metrics/Operational Duties
• Work closely with the other audit department managers
• Understand and evaluate business processes and identify improvement opportunities
• Assist in planning and managing implementation of improvement programs
• Collect and analyse data to detect system weaknesses and identify key and residual risks
• Work closely with the development and operational teams to test integrations and new products
• Oversee the deployment of new software and/or related processes
• Submit a daily report summarising key aspects of the daily sign offs
• Identify and rectify weaknesses within procedures, processes, policies and related internal control frameworks
• Continuously look to improve efficiency and effectiveness through ongoing learning/development and new techniques
• Perform consulting activities and ad hoc assignments as they arise
• Manage changing priorities and competing demands
• Ensure deadlines are met for relevant tasks
• Timeous and accurate reporting of findings with material value or material risk
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement through process re-engineering and change management

Compliance, Risk and Quality
• Create, maintain and enforce company policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (where applicable)
• Support the Group Ibranch Accountant / Group Audit Project Manager regarding the maintenance of the risk register
• Focus on quality regarding communication, capturing, documentation, etc.
• Maintain department process write-ups/system descriptions and quarterly updating
• Ensure logical saving of all work, templates, etc. for audits
• Produce high-quality work/templates/workbooks/recons substantiated by facts
• Summarise detailed daily findings and submit a report to the Group Ibranch Accountant / Group Audit Project Manager
• Effectively deal with internal, external, SARS, NCA and BEE auditors
• Promote declaration of all gifts and report suspicious requests
• Escalate shortages of R2k or greater to Group Ibranch Accountant / Group Audit Project Manager
• Promote declaration of all conflicts of interest upfront
• Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information
• Stay abreast of changes in the relevant industry and regulations
• Ensure relevant Audit Policies, Procedures, Manuals and training manuals are maintained and updated

• Manage key supplier relationships
• Source new products/innovations/robotics/artificial intelligence/predictive analysis
• Develop existing products/software
• Achieve short-term, medium-term, long-term goals
• Assist with company projects as allocated

• Approve and maintain roles, job descriptions and KPIs/KPAs
• Manage team performance and disciplinary actions
• Enforce an ethical work environment
• Identify training needs for team members
• Conduct performance reviews and recognition of team efforts
