Overview

THE COMPANY: Juul Labs has a mission to transition the world’s billion adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes, eliminate their use, and combat underage usage of our products. We focus on exceptional quality, research, design, and innovation, supported by leading technology investors. We are hiring great talent across engineers, scientists, designers, product managers, operations, customer service, and business professionals.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director, Cycle Planning is responsible for leading Juul Labs’ end-to-end commercial cycle planning process—translating strategic priorities into integrated, market-ready execution plans. This role ensures that product launches, promotions, consumer programs, and other commercial activities are strategically sequenced and operationally aligned to maximize business impact.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Commercial Planning & PMO, the Director will partner with Sales, Brand, Go-to-Market (GTM), Demand Planning, and Operations to define objectives, set target metrics, and align tactical execution plans for each cycle. This includes managing dependencies, identifying risks and conflicts, and ensuring that all commercial activities are timed and resourced to deliver against volume, revenue, and market share goals. The Director will also serve as the central point of coordination for cycle planning inputs across the U.S. and International markets, ensuring integration with demand planning, resource allocation, and commercial governance processes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Commercial Cycle Planning Process
    • Own the development and management of JUUL Labs’ commercial cycle plans from strategy definition to execution readiness.
    • Partner with Commercial, Sales, and Brand leaders to set objectives, define KPIs, and prioritize activities within each cycle.
    • Integrate New Product Introductions (NPIs), promotions, and consumer programs into unified execution strategies that align with corporate and market priorities.
    • Maintain a forward-looking view of the cycle calendar to ensure proactive planning and risk mitigation.
  • Strategic Sequencing & Alignment
    • Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions to align activity sequencing for maximum commercial impact.
    • Identify and resolve conflicts, capacity constraints, and dependencies across initiatives.
    • Ensure cycle planning decisions consider operational lead times, regulatory requirements, and market readiness.
    • Partner with Demand Planning to ensure cycle strategies are supported by accurate forecasts and inventory availability.
  • Integration with Demand Planning & Governance
    • Ensure cycle plans are integrated into the broader commercial execution calendar and governance processes.
    • Collaborate with the demand planning team to align forecasts with cycle objectives and promotional plans.
    • Support the Sr. Director, Commercial Planning & PMO in preparing cycle planning updates for the Commercial Executive Team.
  • Planning Tools & Process Improvement
    • Maintain and evolve standardized cycle planning templates, tools, and workflows.
    • Drive process improvements to increase visibility, alignment, and execution efficiency across the commercial organization.
    • Partner with the PMO team to incorporate cycle planning milestones into initiative tracking dashboards.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years in commercial planning, marketing operations, or related commercial execution roles.
  • Proven experience managing integrated planning processes that span multiple functions and markets.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive consensus.
  • Ability to manage complex calendars and dependencies across product launches, promotions, and market programs.
  • Experience in CPG, nicotine/tobacco, or other regulated industries.

Preferred:
