Job Purpose
Are you curious, analytical, and enjoy hands-on work to understand how electrical equipment operates? ABB is looking for a Laboratory Test Technician to join our Motion unit in Brazil. If you have a technical background, experience with testing and maintaining frequency inverters, and want to be part of a global company that values technology, safety, and innovation — this opportunity is for you
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and functional tests on frequency inverters, both standalone and panel-mounted.
- Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance on equipment tested in the lab.
- Investigate defects and failures by conducting root cause analysis and suggesting technical solutions.
- Prepare clear and well-written test and inspection reports.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams to help diagnose and validate systems.
- Support the planning and execution of test plans, working closely with other technical teams.
- Communicate effectively and use a consultative approach to identify opportunities and promote the Motion service portfolio to internal and external customers, helping to build loyalty and grow the business.
- Completed technical education in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
- Available to work onsite in the laboratory.
- Intermediate technical English is preferred for reading manuals.
- Previous experience in maintenance and testing of frequency inverters or industrial electrical systems.
- Strong writing skills for preparing technical reports and logging information in systems.
