Financial Controller - Latin America Aurora Energy Research Department: Core - Finance Location: São Paulo, Brazil ONLY APPLICATIONS WITH A RESUMÉ IN ENGLISH WILL BE CONSIDERED Join our dynamic and fast‑paced international company operating within the subscription and advisory space as an experienced Financial Controller overseeing our growing business in Latin America. This crucial position will have responsibility for our financial reporting and operations in the region, and will serve as the primary contact in the Finance team on commercial contracting matters. The incumbent will also analyze revenue streams and financial performance, while ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. The role balances strategic oversight with hands‑on operational tasks, with potential for growing leadership as the company expands throughout the Americas. Key Responsibilities The role will report to the Group Financial Controller in the UK to manage accounting process end‑to‑end Manage monthly and year‑end close processes and reporting for Latin America (currently Brazil and Chile with expectation to expand into the region) Applying local accounting policies and standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of local financial reporting, and IFRS for Group reporting Ensure timely filing of financial statements and local tax filings alongside external accountants and be the contact point between the Finance team and 3rd party local accounting firms Oversee and ensure compliance with local tax regulations and requirements Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for internal review Manage external audit processes for the region Oversee and manage the financial health of the business’s Latin American operations, including budgeting & forecasting support, cash forecasting and management, KPI reporting and variance analysis Project accounting for Advisory projects, which includes data quality review, invoicing, and revenue recognition Financial control of subscription products, which includes: Loading contracts to the ERP, and creating deferral schedules Invoicing Working with the commercial team on any contract or invoicing queries Monitor, manage and report on subscription and advisory revenue streams, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and reporting Financial reporting on variances of actual performance against plan, and proactively working to resolve any issues that need further investigation within agreed policies Control key expenditures such as travel expense claims Ensure adherence to the company’s Procure to Pay standards and policies Working with Group personnel to innovate and deploy financial and commercial process enhancements What we are looking for Required attributes Qualified Accountant Strong Excel skills and ERP experience; knowledge of Dynamics 365 would be beneficial A highly motivated individual with the ability to work proactively and independently Effective professional communication and organization skills Self‑motivated, resilient, and a capacity to work under pressure Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional language is an advantage Desired attributes Experience in service industries (consulting, legal) and/or subscription businesses (research, data analytics) Commercial contracting experience Experience working with a regional scope, especially in controlling matters across multiple locations in Latin America What we offer The opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a successful and thriving finance team in a fast‑paced and exciting industry A dynamic, intellectually stimulating, and supportive environment A fun, informal and international work culture Competitive compensation package Private medical insurance Access to the Aurora Academy, our training programme offering a range of opportunities to develop your skills Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), offering a complete support network that offers expert advice and compassionate guidance 24/7/365, covering a wide range of personal and professional aspects The Company is committed to the principle that no employee or job applicant shall receive unfavourable treatment on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity To apply, please submit your CV in English, a personal summary, your salary expectations and please inform us of your notice period Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Research Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Aurora Energy Research by 2x We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
