The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions independently manages all employee exits for Remote's external employees with a focus on legal compliance, high-quality service, and delightful customer experience. You will also provide first-level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating resources. You will drive process improvements in line with Remote's strategic goals and values.
What you bring- Extensive experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle.
- Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law considered a plus.
- Proven experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity and legal compliance; and providing comprehensive HR advice on employment laws across jurisdictions.
- Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and independently arrive at solutions while communicating recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Superior communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills; able to lead difficult conversations with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Business-level English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.
- Aptitude to innovate and optimize processes, with opportunities for automation and best practice adoption.
- Attention to data integrity and thorough record-keeping; tech-savvy and capable of asynchronous collaboration.
- Ability to work autonomously in an international, fast-paced remote environment and balance multiple priorities. Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Proactive, self-motivated with ownership and accountability, able to inspire others.
- Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits with minimal supervision across multiple international jurisdictions, prioritizing a superior offboarding experience.
- Provide guidance with knowledge on key jurisdictions and manage requests on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, contracts, and redundancies, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
- Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultations, hearings, negotiations, and terminations.
- Influence positive outcomes in complex terminations, coordinating stakeholders through lengthy processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits (payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, unions).
- Draft and administer termination documents, maintaining strict privacy and confidentiality.
- Process offboarding in Remote's HRIS, collaborating with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, and other teams.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on Employee Relations resources.
- Guide clients on progressive disciplinary approaches, documentation requirements, and best practices for difficult situations.
- Track and monitor ongoing employee relations cases with timely follow-up.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on offboarding and first-level employee relations matters in partnership with Lifecycle stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and client experience enhancements.

Salary ranges are geo-based and reflect role, level, and location. The base range for this full-time position is 41,900 to 94,300 USD. Actual pay depends on location, skills, experience, and market needs.
