We are now looking for a Marine Superintendent to join our team in Brazil office (Rio de Janeiro/RJ).
Purpose:
- The Marine Superintendent shall coordinate the marine operations of vessels and act as support to the Fleet Manager and/ or Vessel Manager in matters related to marine operations.
- When Marine Superintendent is on board vessels, he may act as the master´s discretion as an advisor on navigation, mooring and cargo operations.
- Support HSEQ Manager in his duties.
- Monitor overview of HSEQ statistics of assigned fleets.
- Participate during internal audits and investigations.
**Required competencies**:
- The person holding this position should have served at sea having reached either the proficiency as Master or Chief Mate or held a similar position ashore.
- Further, the person should demonstrate experience in management of Marine and HSEQ matters.
- Certifed ISO / ISM auditor.
- Incident investigation certificate.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in both Portuguese and English, including strong presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to colaborate across business entities easily, while maintaining a drive for results.
**Required experience**:
- Sailing experience at senior, management level.
- Experience in risk assessment & management, auditing, incident investigating and mentoring.
- Preferably, experience in conducting vessel internal audit.
- Preferably, experience in coaching and training.
