Regional Category Manager

Objective:
Develop and drive the regional category sourcing strategy for indirect categories to ensure best practices are deployed across the sourcing lifecycle, key stakeholder alignment and successful implementation across all Countries and BUs within the region.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop & maintain deep expertise in indirect category, e.g., market dynamics, supplier economics, SRM, etc;
- Develop and execute the overall category strategy incorporate, business needs; ensure regional strategy aligns with the global category objectives and key stakeholders are aligned around the regional category strategy;
- Identify and mitigate category associated risks;
- Ensure cross-functional and country team engagement for all regional category/subcategory efforts;
- Develop negotiation strategy based on supplier proposals and category cost; analysis. Negotiate with suppliers/vendors to maximize value for the organization;
- Manage supplier selection process and provide data and recommendations to ensure informed selection decisions. Track supplier performance through implementation;
- Develop and contribute to building a robust P2P Process;
- Drive aggressive productivity and develop a pipeline of projects across all value levers;
- Develop and lead a team of procurement professionals. Train new associates on the strategic sourcing process and sourcing analytics;
- Ensure sustainability is part of the category management and sourcing process.
Skills required:
- BA (MBA preferred) or related experience;
- Strategic sourcing experience in Indirect categories;
- Deep category expertise – strong knowledge of the market, suppliers and cost drivers;
- Strong regional knowledge (supply, industry, etc.);
- Fluent English required
