Business Development Associate - Brazil About Powertrust Powertrust is unlocking a new sector of clean energy by aggregating Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from small, distributed renewable energy (DRE) projects around the world. We believe that small projects – aggregated to meaningful scale – can transform the world's energy future by delivering social and climate impacts where it matters most. Small DRE projects help power schools, hospitals, factories, farms, and households across the Global South. Powertrust aggregates small DRE projects in an accountable, transparent way that matches how global corporations that are seeking to reduce their electricity emissions have procured renewables for the past decade. We offer a unique, innovative model for corporate climate leaders to decarbonize their global energy footprint while maximizing the impact of their investments. Scope of Work We are actively recruiting a proactive Business Development Associate based in Brazil to expand and curate our network of solar developers and facilitate the REC certification process. This role combines relationship-building, project coordination, and market intelligence to help scale renewable energy adoption in Brazil and across Latin America. The Business Development Associate will work closely with the global Powertrust project supply team, and will undertake the following responsibilities: Solar Developer Outreach & Relationship Management: Proactively generate leads through outbound prospecting, networking, and industry events to build a strong pipeline of solar developers Conduct strategic conversations with decision-makers at solar developers (C-Suite, VP-level) to understand financing requirements and position Powertrust's REC solutions Track KPIs such as qualified opportunities, conversion rates, and capacity targets; report regularly to leadership Maintain strong relationships with developers, EPCs, and project owners across the Powertrust contracting lifecycle. Represent Powertrust at solar expos and client meetings across Brazil to strengthen partnerships and close deals. Project Facilitation & Data Coordination: Prepare proposals, support contract negotiations, and ensure smooth handoff to operations teams. Work closely with the solar developers to manage their projects on the Powertrust digital platform and provide feedback to the technology team to make continuous improvements. Coordinate with internal teams and third-party verifiers to streamline project onboarding and REC certification. Maintain detailed records in CRM systems and track project milestones. Market Research & Strategic Input: Analyze market trends and developer data to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions in Brazil and across LATAM. Provide feedback to improve developer experience and REC offerings. Support business development campaigns and prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Timeline This is a full-time engagement, with the work expected to begin immediately. Desired Skills and Experience This role is of critical importance to the successful delivery of Powertrust's product and mission to accelerate distributed renewable energy across Latin America. A successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter, represent the solar project developers and off-takers, and 3 – 5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in renewable energy or environmental commodities. Experience in outbound prospecting and lead qualification at all organizational levels Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in Portuguese and professional proficiency in English required. Strong analytical skills with ability to create compelling presentations and reports for stakeholders. Self-starter with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with solar project development, permitting processes, energy markets, or REC processes is highly desirable. Comfortable using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) and project management platforms. Location and Travel A successful candidate can be located anywhere in Brazil that supports building strong relationships across the solar ecosystem. The Business Development Associate will have a flexible working arrangement, working fully online from their own workspace and computer. Occasional travel may be required, as well as non-standard work hours to accommodate international time zones. Compensation This role will pay R$160,000 annually; stock options or other performance incentives may be granted based on performance. Engajamento de Desenvolvedores Solares e Gestão de Relacionamentos: Gerar proativamente negócios por meio de prospecção externa, networking e eventos do setor para construir um forte pipeline de desenvolvedores solares. Conduzir conversas estratégicas com os tomadores de decisão em desenvolvedores solares (C-Suíte, VP) para entender os requisitos de financiamento e posicionar as soluções REC da Powertrust. Acompanhar KPIs como oportunidades qualificadas, taxas de conversão e metas de capacidade; Reportar regularmente à sua liderança. Manter relacionamentos fortes com desenvolvedores, EPCs e proprietários de projetos ao longo de todo o ciclo operacional dos contratos da Powertrust. Representar a Powertrust em exposições solares e reuniões com clientes em todo o Brasil para fortalecer parcerias e fechar novos negócios. Suporte a Projetos e Coordenação de Informações: Preparar propostas, apoiar as negociações contratuais e garantir a transição dos novos clientes para as equipes de operações. Trabalhar em estreita colaboração com os desenvolvedores solares para gerenciar seus projetos na plataforma digital Powertrust e fornecer feedback à equipe de tecnologia para promover melhorias contínuas. Coordenar atividades juntamente com as equipes internas e verificadores terceirizados para agilizar a integração de projetos e a certificação REC. Manter registros detalhados nos sistemas CRM e acompanhar os marcos do projeto. Pesquisa de Mercado e Contribuição Estratégica: Analisar tendências de mercado e dados de desenvolvedores para identificar oportunidades de crescimento e informar decisões estratégicas no Brasil e em toda a LATAM. Fornecer feedback para melhorar a experiência do desenvolvedor e as ofertas de REC. Apoiar campanhas de desenvolvimento de negócios e preparar apresentações para stakeholders internos e externos. Modelo de Trabalho Este é um contrato em tempo integral, com início imediato do trabalho. Habilidades e Experiência Desejadas Esse papel é de importância crítica para a entrega bem-sucedida do produto da Powertrust e sua missão de acelerar a energia renovável distribuída em toda a América Latina. Um candidato bem-sucedido será aquele com perfil de um empreendedor proativo que representará os desenvolvedores de projetos solares e os compradores de energia, e que tenha: 3 a 5 anos de experiência em vendas B2B ou desenvolvimento de negócios, preferencialmente em energia renovável ou commodities ambientais Experiência em prospecção externa e qualificação de leads em todos os níveis organizacionais. Forte comunicação e habilidades interpessoais; fluência em portuguêse proficiência profissional em inglês são exigidas. Fortes habilidades analíticas com capacidade de criar apresentações e relatórios envolventes para as partes interessadas. Pessoa autodidata com capacidade de trabalhar de forma independente e gerenciar múltiplas prioridades. Familiaridade com desenvolvimento de projetos solares, processos de licenciamento, mercados de energia ou processos REC é altamente desejável. Confortável usando ferramentas de CRM (por exemplo, HubSpot) e plataformas de gerenciamento de projetos. Localização e Viagens Um candidato bem-sucedido pode residir em qualquer lugar do Brasil que apoie a construção de relacionamentos sólidos em todo o ecossistema solar.
