Infrastructure Operations Specialist

The Infrastructure First Line Leader plays a pivotal role within the organization, overseeing key operations for the Cirrus Virtualization Platform team.

Job Description

This position provides leadership, guidance, and expertise to SME resources who operate the Cirrus Virtualization's - Storage Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Virtualization & Automation squads within the US.

This role is responsible for ensuring the environment runs smoothly, minimizing downtime, driving innovation, maintaining agility to deliver projects, building relationships with other business units, and supporting organizations, while leading creative solutions that drive efficiencies.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in technical/infrastructure operations, storage engineering, systems engineering, virtualization & automation, and security/compliance.
• Strong enterprise-level knowledge of storage systems (SAN, iSCSI, NFS, S3, NVMeoF, COS, etc.).
• Strong understanding of enterprise-class storage hardware.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and software-defined storage technologies.
• Strong storage-related skills (snapshots, replication, disaster recovery, and backup capabilities).
• Strong enterprise-level knowledge of Hybrid Cloud architecture and technology.
• Demonstrated experience in operational management and leadership.
• Strong working knowledge of concepts and procedures promoting autonomous operations and automation engineering.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong experience with multiple operating systems (z/OS, AIX, Windows, Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.).
• Strong experience/working technical knowledge in developing procedures focused on autonomous 'zero-touch' operations using Red Hat products such as OpenShift, Ansible, and Satellite.
• Basic knowledge of the OKR framework and its application in achieving difficult goals.
