Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership – 70%;
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive testing strategy, including automation protocols for the team;
  • Establish, implement, and oversee testing processes throughout all testing phases;
  • Create milestones, test plans, and disseminate reports;
  • Identify opportunities for automation and advocate for increased automation coverage;
  • Onboard new QA team members and provide necessary training;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the QA team in all relevant discussions;
  • Monitor team performance and seek continuous improvement in workflows;
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product leadership to enhance efficiencies and identify improvement areas;
  • Execution – 30%;
  • Engage actively in planning and strategy sessions for key projects;
  • Work alongside engineers and project leads to prioritize and resolve issues, particularly for strategic projects;
  • Review requirements, use cases, and design documents to provide testing insights;
  • Develop test plans for significant initiatives;
  • Create, execute, and review test cases for critical projects;
  • Build and maintain automation tests and contribute to the automation framework;
  • Log, review, and prioritize defects for key initiatives;
  • Assist with production issues and live site testing as necessary.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within QA teams;
  • At least 6 years of practical experience in both manual and automated testing;
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Python;
  • Extensive experience with Playwright is essential;
  • Familiarity with Selenium;
  • Demonstrated ability to create effective test strategies and plans;
  • Expertise in determining automation scope and leading automation test development;
  • Experience in API testing;
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Bit Bucket, or GitHub;
  • Experience with mobile automation testing tools for Android and iOS;
  • Ability to analyze bug reports, prioritize necessary tests, and enhance application functions through automated testing;
  • Detail-oriented mindset is crucial for testing web and mobile applications to identify improvements and isolate issues;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player; excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with engineering and leadership teams;
  • Upper-intermediate proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Elixir and the Phoenix framework;
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Perl or PHP (Drupal);
  • Knowledge of Storybook;
  • Experience with CI/CD QA automation for automation workflows, including Kafka;
  • Familiarity with Scrum methodologies is preferred;
  • Experience in e-commerce applications is advantageous;
  • Proficiency in JIRA for defect tracking and task management;
  • Experience with Confluence and SharePoint;
  • Familiarity with any test management tool.
