NOC Backoffice Engineer


About the Role:

The NOC Backoffice Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of our networks.

This involves monitoring networks using EMS/NMS tools and following relevant processes.

The successful candidate will require strong analytical skills and technical knowledge to solve product and network issues of moderate complexity.

In addition, they will be responsible for performing NoC Back Office activities, including problem management, performance degradation, and network optimization.

Effective communication is key in this role, requiring exceptional technical and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams, field operations crews, and customer contact points.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor networks using EMS/NMS tools and follow relevant processes
  • Solve product and network issues of moderate complexity
  • Perform NoC Back Office activities including problem management, performance degradation, and network optimization
  • Utilize exceptional technical and communication skills to work with internal teams, field operations crews, and customer contact points
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require a strong background in networking, particularly access and aggregation transport networks, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and provide guidance to others on the team.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Computer Science (or equivalent) and minimum 3 years of experience in a NoC environment.

In addition, proficiency in TCP/IP Protocols, Network Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP/RIP), Ethernet Switches (VLAN/STP), and ISO Layers 2-7 is essential.

A proven track record of advanced troubleshooting and critical thinking is also required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a NoC environment
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP Protocols, Network Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP/RIP), Ethernet Switches (VLAN/STP), and ISO Layers 2-7
