Procurement Professional Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising procurement operations in 33 client-countries across the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Region.

The role involves two key aspects: managing procurement activities and supporting Borrowers in reforming their public procurement systems to achieve better value for money.

The Procurement Specialist will work under the oversight of the World Bank's Procurement Practice Manager for the Region, providing technical fiduciary advice on procurement activities and engaging in policy dialogue with client countries.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on procurement matters
  • Support clients in achieving optimal value for money in public procurement
  • Understand relevant procurement markets using data analytics and approaches
  • Participate in missions and develop practical solutions for procurement
  • Develop strong relationships with government officials to advance policy dialogue in procurement
  • Foster policy dialogue into actionable proposals

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent qualification relevant to this position
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in public procurement and procurement under Multilateral Development Banks
  • Proven knowledge of public procurement principles, systems, process and planning
  • Ability to independently provide well-researched analyses of complex procurement issues
