Job Overview
As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in building a career with Canonical by supporting the technical needs of customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products.
The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate issues reported by customers through research and escalation
- Work to resolve complex customer problems related to Canonical's portfolio of products
- Ensure each support case is handled according to our Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the highest possible customer satisfaction by setting the right expectations and fulfilling commitments
- Engage directly with customers and work collaboratively to resolve their issues
- Participate in regular weekend working rotations
- Contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing ones to ensure shared knowledge and lessons learned are available to customers
Requirements
- Strong written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or an alternative chosen path with compelling narrative
- Track record of going above-and-beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results
- Hands-on experience in supporting Linux systems including virtualization/cloud, containers, storage technologies, and networking
- Cloud computing expertise in provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, etc.
- Advanced troubleshooting experience, solid understanding of OS and application level bugs, and ability to navigate stack traces and logs
- Programming fundamentals in any language
- Extensive customer support experience with a focus on customer needs and professional communication
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
