Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Computer Technician to join our team.

This is a challenging role that requires technical expertise and excellent problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer systems, networking, and troubleshooting.

This position involves maintaining, implementing, configuring, and repairing computer systems and related equipment.

You will provide direct user support for tier 2 and tier 3 work orders and guide junior technicians in the accomplishment of mission and work tasks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Perform troubleshooting and repairs on all computers, peripheral systems, and equipment according to current desktop standard configuration guidelines and documented procedures.
  • Documentation: Document resolution and close completed work orders.
  • Technical Guidance: Offer technical guidance and mentoring of computer technicians with focus on accurate completion of work orders and execution of standard operating procedures.
  • Imaging and Testing: Image, test, and install desktop/laptop computers for all new hire or temporary duty employees including installing encryption tools and configuring wireless access as needed.
  • Maintenance: Perform and document preventive maintenance of computer equipment as required.
  • Vendor Warranty Returns: Facilitate vendor warranty return process, test, and evaluate items returned from repair.
  • Inventories: Maintain physical inventories and ensure accuracy as directed.
  • Lifecycle Replacement: Participate in lifecycle replacement tasking and other technical improvement projects.
  • Retrograde Efforts: Manage retrograde efforts for all computer equipment including performing DoD data wipe on all hard drives and preparing required documentation.
  • AV Support: Carry duty pager and provide AV support during presentations outside of work hours as needed.
  • Safety: Maintain a safe workplace program and ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain an orderly work area and technical lab space clear of all hazards/debris.
  • Documentation Creation: Participate in the creation of technical and procedural documentation.
  • Annual/Seasonal Review: Perform annual/seasonal review of documentation.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in computer system maintenance, implementation, configuration, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
