Job Overview

The Senior Buyer is responsible for leading the procurement function, driving strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement activities to support the company's business objectives. He/She receives requisitions, executes the quotation process, and realizes the purchase of goods, services, and equipment for the company. The Senior Buyer is accountable for following up on the flow of deliveries, developing suppliers, and supervising the purchasing process and managing contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage global agreements to drive cost savings and improve supplier relationships.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and tactics to achieve business objectives.
  • Understand the company's strengths and leverage them to negotiate favorable terms.
  • Take end-to-end accountability for procurement activities.
  • Create purchase orders in Oracle and support finance to manage payment forecasts.
  • Understand project schedules and critical paths to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct market analysis and research potential vendors.
  • Liaise with internal customers for new sourcing requirements and subcontracts.
  • Prepare requests for proposals in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct commercial evaluations of proposals.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and conditions of contracts.
  • Complete and obtain signatures on all approval documentation.
  • Negotiate cost reductions and savings with vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in negotiating and procuring services.
  • Reneew existing contracts and licenses that are expired or about to expire.
  • Ensure contractual requirements are met by vendors and required documents are received in a timely manner.
  • Manage changes to contracts and purchase orders through the appropriate change order process.
  • Manage invoicing and payment processes for contracts/purchase orders.
  • Ensure all documents are properly filed in the appropriate systems.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with multiple vendors.
  • Provide periodic progress reports as required.
  • Manage commercial closeout of contracts.
  • Comply with global processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Make continuous improvement recommendations for relevant processes, procedures, policies, and systems.
  • Perform cost and data analysis.

Essential Qualifications and Education

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Economics, Law, Engineering, or International Relations is required. A Post-Graduation or MBA is desirable.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing and subcontracting, preferably in an EPCI company related to oil and gas.
  • Advanced English language skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience in sourcing and evaluating commercial proposals.
  • Experience in using Microsoft SharePoint and SPMAT.
