Carbon Business Development Specialist

Job Summary:

This position serves as the regional sales person engaging directly with farmers for all Rabo Carbon Bank activities (Trees for Farmers, Avoiding Legal Deforestation, Restoration of Degraded Land, Carbon Farming, Decarbonizing Supply Chains, etc.) in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement sales and marketing strategies in the region and follow up with prospects to drive business growth.
  2. Support the local product lead on sales activities while prospects progress through the sales funnel, ensuring seamless customer engagement.
  3. Translate client needs and opportunities related to CO2 ambitions into products and services offered by Rabobank, fostering strong customer relationships.
  4. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Rabo clients, farming practices, and sustainability topics in agriculture (regenerative farming, etc.) and innovative propositions such as Carbon bank.
  5. Educate RMs, Branch managers, and Regional Managers on our RCB activities and programs, promoting a culture of sustainability.
  6. Develop smarter targeting and local communication strategies, leveraging digital tools to enhance customer engagement.
  7. Stay up-to-date with local market research, identifying trends and opportunities to drive business growth.

Requirements:

  1. A strong agricultural background is essential for this role.
  2. A financial background is preferred, but not required.
  3. Preferably located in the region of the projects, with a focus on the Cerrado region.
  4. Experience in innovation and sustainability is highly valued.
  5. Proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese and English is a must, with Spanish being a plus.
