Optimizing Ubuntu Integration Lead

The ideal candidate will lead a team of engineers to optimize Ubuntu for the latest silicon, ensuring an exceptional experience on diverse hardware platforms and software stacks. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement best-in-class Ubuntu integration for various IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
- Partner with commercial entities to deliver a superior, optimized Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing engineering team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example, and feedback.
- Oversee project engagements and ensure timely delivery on agreed milestones while maintaining strict quality and reliability standards.
- Align product architecture and roadmaps with other teams at Canonical to drive business success.
This position offers the opportunity to work from home with occasional global travel for up to two weeks.
Requirements:- Proven expertise in Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high-performance server-class hardware.
- Experience working directly with customers, resolving technical issues, interpreting business challenges, and effectively communicating solutions.
- Track record of managing or leading teams of software engineers, with a focus on agility and adaptability.
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies and their application in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust across multiple internal teams.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in English, as well as a bachelor's degree in a technology field.
