Technical Audio Designer Role

We are seeking an expert in audio design to create immersive and engaging experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in audio creation, with expertise in implementing high-quality audio assets using Unreal Engine.

The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing audio systems to ensure seamless integration with visual elements. They will collaborate closely with art and design teams to troubleshoot and implement solutions, utilizing native Unreal Engine audio features.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to push the boundaries of game audio by implementing cutting-edge techniques and tools. You will also be responsible for documenting and sharing your knowledge with the team, helping to deepen their understanding of audio technology.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Create high-quality audio assets for key features in Fortnite using Unreal Engine
  • Collaborate with audio, art, and design teams to troubleshoot and implement solutions
  • Utilize native Unreal Engine audio features to push the boundaries of game audio
  • Write systems/tools to empower content creators and/or improve their workflows
  • Utilize Blueprint, Python, C++, Verse, and more to debug issues
  • Strive to deepen the technical knowledge of the audio team by learning, documenting, and giving system walkthroughs
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of Unreal Engine components, including scripting, level editor, animation, and Sequencer editors. You should also have experience with game development methodologies such as the Actor+Component model, singletons, and data-driven design.

Additionally, you will need to have strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage tasks and priorities independently. Proficiency in creating quality audio assets using a DAW and familiarity with fundamental audio concepts and digital signal processing are also essential.
