Respiratory Therapist Position

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Respiratory Therapist. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in respiratory care and be able to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering High-Quality Patient Care: The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention to optimize patient independence and administer inhalants and aerosolized medications, perform bronchial hygiene, operate mechanical ventilators, deliver therapeutic gas administration, and perform hyperinflation modalities per established respiratory protocols.
- Maintaining a Safe Working Environment: The Respiratory Therapist will be expected to comply with policies and procedures, rules and regulations governing environment of care and patient safety.
- Ensuring Seamless Transitions: The ideal candidate will analyze achievement of anticipated goals and expected outcomes, plan discharge/discontinuation, and provide appropriate home instruction, follow-up or referral.
- Documenting Patient Services: The Respiratory Therapist will document, date, and authenticate respiratory therapy examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcomes in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Staying Current and Compliant: The successful candidate will participate in continuing education to maintain licensure, review professional publications, and provide learning experiences for professional development.
- Fostering Teamwork: The Respiratory Therapist will be expected to contribute to a positive team environment, embracing change to achieve common goals, demonstrating willingness to provide service at other sites as necessary, investigating opportunities for new lines of services, contributing to the development of peers, and accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintaining Regulatory Compliance: The ideal candidate will understand and adhere to current standards of practice for respiratory therapy, guide for professional conduct, including the code of ethics and practice guidelines established by the relevant governing bodies.
- Ensuring Equipment Functionality: The Respiratory Therapist will complete preventive maintenance requirements, follow manufacturer's instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs.
- Protecting Patient Confidentiality: The successful candidate will secure all information in confidential space and follow facility confidentiality policy.
- To be considered for this position, the individual must possess the following qualifications.
- Education: An Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is required, while a Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in respiratory care is required, with clinical experience in all areas of respiratory care being preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: Registration as a Respiratory Therapist is mandatory, along with BLS/CPR certification for a healthcare provider, as per the American Heart Association.
