Job Title: Software Developer

Canonical is seeking a highly skilled software developer to join our Solutions Engineering team. As a key member of our global team, you will collaborate with our managed infrastructure operations team to improve infra-as-code products based on real customer experience.

Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in enterprise initiatives across public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We employ 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries with few office-based roles. Teams meet in person two to four times per year to align on strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in Python and Go to design and deliver open source software operations code.
  • Collaborate with the entire Linux stack, from kernel, networking, storage, to applications.
  • Shape high quality open source monitoring and alerting infrastructure.
  • Rethink open source operations for customers and the open source community.
  • Demonstrate sound engineering design and testing principles in your code.
  • Follow agile software development practices.
Requirements:
  • You are a passionate Python developer with solid knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
  • You have practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
  • You are organized and want your team to deliver timely, high quality software.
  • You are a lifelong learner with an interest in the entire Linux stack from kernel to networking to virtualization and containers.
