We support the National Science Foundation managed United States Antarctic Program as part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) and are currently seeking a South Pole Production Cook.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Implement a flexible attitude in a dynamic and fast-paced work setting.
  • Work in a diverse team unit composed of various personalities.
  • Display self-motivation in physically demanding and challenging working environments.
  • Follow standardized recipes to ensure high-quality food preparation.
  • Prepare menu items for primary and satellite locations using proper cooking techniques and batch-cooking methods.
  • Produce visually appealing and delicious foods.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and tasking responsibilities of the food services department.
  • Cook in an open/displayed setting for customers.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and expedite batch-cooking procedures before and during service.
  • Label and date food properly to minimize waste.
  • Provide exceptional customer service as outlined by the Sous Chef and/or Food Service Supervisor.
  • Comply with all standards of safety and sanitation in the kitchen and serving areas.
  • Use equipment and tools correctly and maintain cleanliness.
  • Monitor serving temperatures of hot and cold foods.
  • Assume leadership roles in the absence of the Sous Chef and perform duties under supervision.
  • Exhibit good communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
