Job Description

As a Senior Energy Property Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in developing the portfolio of Power & Utilities, Oil and Gas Downstream and Midstream, Petrochemicals and Mining, within Brazil. You will be responsible for underwriting Energy accounts, managing broker and client relationships, and engaging with internal stakeholders.

The role involves:

  • Growing the business by maintaining strong client and broker relationships.
  • Analyzing coverage, exposures, wordings, premiums, and insurability of energy risks (oil & gas facilities, petrochemicals, pipelines, mines, power plants).
  • Developing strategic relationships with brokers and clients to ensure proper documentation and grow the business.
  • Coordinating cross-selling opportunities within Corporate Solutions.
  • Participating in special projects and contributing to team operations.
  • Ensuring thorough documentation and clear communication with clients and brokers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Property Energy Underwriting and enjoy working with Energy insurance market. You should understand deeply the main exposures and specificities of each segment of property energy such as energy onshore, mining, and power and utilities. Additionally, you should have strong analytical skills to evaluate complex cases and take underwriting decisions.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong insurance/reinsurance knowledge and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to assist others.
  • Highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to turn customer needs into deals (both traditional and non-traditional/alternative solutions).
