Energy Risk Underwriting Specialist

The role of an Energy Risk Underwriting Specialist involves evaluating and mitigating energy-related risks, fostering strong broker and client relationships, and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Expanding business and maintaining robust relationships with clients and brokers.
  • Analyzing coverage, exposures, wordings, premiums, and insurability of energy risks (oil & gas facilities, petrochemicals, pipelines, mines, power plants).
  • Developing strategic partnerships with brokers and clients to ensure proper documentation and business growth.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to identify opportunities for expansion within the Corporate Solutions portfolio.
  • Participation in special projects and contributions to team operations.
  • Ensuring thorough documentation and clear communication with clients and brokers.

Our dynamic team focuses on reviewing and underwriting energy-related risks across the Brazilian market.

Success as an Energy Risk Underwriting Specialist requires:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Property Energy Underwriting and a passion for working in the energy insurance sector.
  • In-depth understanding of key exposures and specificities within each property energy segment, such as energy Onshore, Mining, and Power and Utilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risks and make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance and negotiation principles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to support colleagues.
  • A highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to convert customer needs into business opportunities.
